What does Zohran Mamdani’s historic victory in New York City tell us about our political moment?

You’ve been elected mayor of a major American city. Now what? How do you carry out your agenda and grow your base all while staring down the forces of capital?

At a time when much of the left is in retreat or ducking for cover, Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral campaign is championing democratic socialist politics and raising expectations.

We need a mass movement to abolish ICE, protect free speech, and ensure freedom, safety, and justice for all.

The Trumpist trifecta of Andrew Cuomo, Eric Adams, and Curtis Sliwa is too dangerous for us to play it safe.
